• The Search actor function is found at top menubar and is shown with this icon. It's menu allows you to do several things, these will be explained here.

  • Many people believe that this function doesn't offer much, well i will try, as always, to amaze you with what it can do without you knowing of it's tricks and functions.

  • As it's title shows, this dialog window allows you to search for actors in your map. This can come in handy if you have lots of items already set allover your map, and finding these shows to be very difficult.
  • First of all, you should know that the Search Actors functio works similar to the windows explorer. You can for example type the first letter of the actor you want to find in the far right selection field for Filter "Name", at that moement, only the actors having a name starting with that letter will show, all other actors or items will not show any longer in the Seacrh Actors function.

  • Now, if you are an advanced mapper, you will make neat work when you create your map.
What i mean here is, that you will create and use groups, and also make use of some very interesting option in the properties fro each item you place in your map. Have a look at the next example.

  • You have placed some sniper rifles in the red room and some other sniper rifles in the blue room. What you could do to find these different Sniper Rifles in each room is to open their properties and go to Events > Tag > BlueRoomSniperRifle" for all the SniperRifles in that Blue room. Then when you use the Search Actors you will be able to search and find ONLY these BlueRoomSniperRifle just by entering this "BlueRoomSniperRifle" in the Filter "Tag" field.

You can do the same for some actors linked or attahced to movers by using the Filter "Event".

  • Not to mention, that you can also use this option to search all the actors with same Tag, then rightclick them and select all these to put them all togheter in a same group, then create that group.

  • Now, this is what i call neat work and a good map and mapper. Make it easy for yourself, don't mess all up, it's made for you, so use it.
